Britney won't perform at MTV Awards

Spears' 2007 performance drew negative comments

After weeks of "will she or won’t she” speculation about
whether Britney Spears will perform again this year,
her manager said on Monday that she will not.

“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. 
I’m telling you officially and unequivocally,”
said manager Larry Rudolf on Seacrest’s KISS-FM
morning radio show in Los Angeles.

"Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated
to perform on this year's VMAs,"
said Larry Rudolph.
"She's recording her next album, which is going amazingly well,
and her focus remains on the studio."

In June, MTV said it was in talks to have Spears appear in some form.
The 26-year-old is nominated for video of the year for Piece of Me.

The awards take place in Los Angeles on 7 September.
Other performers include Kid Rock, Lil Wayne, Pink,
Rihanna, Paramore, TI and the Jonas Brothers.
